A Fast Middle Mile Fuels a Steady 5K Grace Feldpausch finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 28:02, a pace of 9:02 per mile. Her recent history shows steadily quickening paces across distances 10:14 per mile at the 2024 half marathon and 10:42 per mile at the 2025 10K and this 5K continued that trend into her fastest sustained running yet. The race opened strong at 8:48 for the first mile, surged to 7:42 through the second, then eased to 10:35 for the closing mile, giving her cumulative pace a brief dip before settling back near 9:00 per mile. That second mile stood out as the race's standout stretch. Finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, Feldpausch capped her race in a city sitting above 5,000 feet of elevation, a fitting backdrop for a well-paced effort through the heart of downtown.
