Fast Second Mile Powers Steady 5K Effort Amanda Cesario ran the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 27:19, an average pace of 8:48 per mile. Her race built through the middle of the course before easing back over the closing stretch. Cesario opened with an 8:19 first mile, then surged to a 7:57 second mile her fastest of the race before settling into a 9:51 final mile to the finish. That middle-mile push marked the highlight of her run, showing a strong gear shift at the race's midpoint. Like every distance at Boulderthon, her 5K concluded on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting close to a race run entirely above 5,000 feet of elevation.
