Strong Middle Mile Fuels a Solid 5K Finish Jennah Homewood covered the 5K in 30:39, an average pace of 9:53 per mile, finishing among a field of 2,677 entrants in the 2026 Boulderthon. Her race built through a quick opening mile, sharpened into her best stretch, then eased slightly before the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Homewood's second mile was the highlight, clocking 9:00 and pulling her overall pace down to 9:16 through two miles her fastest mile of the day. The third mile slowed to 10:58, nudging her final average back up, but the early pace bank kept her overall time solid. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the front-half surge stands out as the race's clearest strength. A touch more evenness across the final mile could sharpen the overall time further.
