Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Josue Fuentes Rosal #40993 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Second Mile Anchors Solid 5K Effort Josue Fuentes Rosal finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 30:53, an overall pace of 9:57 per mile. His race built with a purposeful middle mile: after opening in 9:39, he surged to 8:08 for mile two, his fastest mile of the day, before easing to 12:10 over the closing stretch. That middle-mile push reflects well on his pacing instincts, even as the final mile pulled his overall average back toward 9:57. Given that Boulder sits at over 5,000 feet of elevation, that early surge stands out as a strong piece of running. Future 5Ks may reward a slightly more even split between miles two and three, but this was a race with a clear high point and a respectable finish overall.
