Strong Start Fades Down the Stretch Dylan Ammann covered the 5K in 25:02, built on an aggressive opening two miles before easing through the finish. His first mile came through in 7:14, and he picked up the pace even further over the second mile, clocking 6:45 his fastest mile of the race. The final mile slowed to 10:07, pulling his overall pace to 8:04 per mile as he crossed the line in downtown Boulder. Racing at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, Dylan's early miles showed sharp speed before the third mile pace adjustment. Given the strength of that second-mile split, he may find value in working on sustaining that effort deeper into future 5K efforts.
