Strong Start Fades Late Over 26.2 Miles Bradley Cumming finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:23:37, a slight step back from his 4:18:09 in 2025, with average pace slipping from 9:51 to 10:03 per mile. Cumming's race showed a clear two-part shape: through the first 13 miles he held a strong pace in the high 7:00s, reaching the halfway point in 1:42:37 and sitting among the race's faster climbers on elapsed pace. From mile 14 onward, his per-mile splits steadily lengthened, with the stretch from mile 19 to 24 slowing into the 12:0016:00 range before he closed the final two miles back down near 12:00 pace. His opening 13 miles at altitude above 5,000 feet stand as the standout stretch of the day, and like every entrant, he closed his effort on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
