Fast Start Fuels a Top-10% Finish Cindy Copeland finished the Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:47:46, placing 654th overall and 170th among women in a field of 7,223. Copeland's race took shape early, with her first five miles all under 8:08 and highlighted by a 7:52 fifth mile, her fastest of the day. That opening pace built a cushion she carried into the middle miles, where the pace eased into the 8:20s-8:30s before tightening again over the final two miles to close in 8:09 and 8:27. Her mile 9 split of 8:18, easing toward 8:32 by mile 10, came as she approached the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Copeland's steady effort held firm through the finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
