Strong Pacing Carries Her Into the Top Tier Sarah Haskell finished the half marathon in 1:40:35, placing 383rd overall and 79th among women in the field of 7,223. She opened with a brisk 7:33 first mile, held a tight band of 7:20s-7:40s pace through the middle miles, and closed with a strong final mile in 7:28 after a brief dip through miles 7-8. Her fastest mile of the race came early, a 7:20 second mile, showing quick footing before the pace settled into a steady rhythm. That stretch anchored a cumulative pace that stayed close to 7:40 min/mile for the remainder of the race. Finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, she completed the course at over 5,000 feet of elevation, a solid showing of pacing control from start to finish.
