Steady Pacing Powers a Strong Half-Marathon Finish Jay Harpp finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:36:33, an average pace of 7:22 per mile, placing 258th overall and 212th among men in a field of 7,223. Harpp's mile splits stayed remarkably even through the first ten miles, holding between 7:11 and 7:34 without a single lull. He found his fastest mile of the race in mile 13, closing in 7:09, capping a strong final third where miles 11 through 13 all dropped under 7:25. That closing surge, run at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, made for a well-managed race with a finish stronger than its start.
