Steady Miles Add Up to a Solid Half Evan Kase finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:44:13, an average pace of 7:57 per mile. That's a step back from his 2025 result of 1:23:22, when he ran 6:21 pace and placed inside the top 1% of the field. Kase's race was remarkably even: he opened his first mile at 8:00 and closed his last at 7:55, holding a tight band between 7:43 and 8:14 throughout. Miles 6 and 7 stood out as his fastest stretch, combining for 15:28 and dipping his cumulative pace under 7:57 for the first time. From there he held that rhythm to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a course that starts and finishes at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
