Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Abelardo Luna Ibarra #30563 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Steady Pace Through Midrace Before a Late Fade Abelardo Luna Ibarra covered the 10K in 54:35, an 8:48 min/mile pace. His race opened briskly, clicking off a 8:20 first mile before dropping to 8:03 for the second his fastest mile of the day. Miles three and four held in the 8:30s range, and mile five settled back to 8:25, showing a consistent middle stretch. The closing mile slowed to 10:54, the one clear dip in an otherwise even effort. Racing at altitude, with Boulder sitting above 5,000 feet, Luna Ibarra's early pace held firm through the heart of the course. That second-mile split stands out as the strongest sustained running of his day, a solid foundation for a runner in the 20-24 age division.
