Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Camille Susnow, 13, completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 29:48, an overall pace of 9:37 per mile. She placed 9th in the Female 14 & Under division. Susnow's race unfolded in three distinct phases. She opened with a 10:00 first mile, then surged through the second mile in 8:19 her fastest stretch of the race before easing to a 10:30 final mile to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. That middle-mile push was the clear highlight of her run, showing a strong gear change mid-race. Given that Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, her ability to find that extra speed at altitude stands out. Working on carrying more of that second-mile rhythm into the closing stretch could be a good focus for next time.
