Fast Start Fuels Top-3% Marathon Finish Jd Ross finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:24:46, placing 73rd overall out of the field of 3,305 and 65th among men. His race opened briskly, with the first 11 miles ticking by at a 6:59 min/mile pace, highlighted by an opening mile of 6:55. From there, per-mile splits gradually eased through the middle miles before slowing more noticeably in the back third, with miles 19 through 23 landing between 8:38 and 9:55 min/mile. That late stretch coincided with the marathon's approach to the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, a section run at over 5,000 feet of elevation in Boulder. Ross still closed with a 7:53 final mile, a solid rebound after the tougher patch, and one worth building on for pacing strategy in future marathons at altitude.
