Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Alf Nordanbro #40213 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Finish Secures Age-Group Podium Alf Nordanbro crossed the line in 21:26 for the 5K, placing 104th overall and 79th among men in a field of 2,677 good for 3rd in the M55-59 division. His race built steadily: a 6:46 opening mile gave way to a quicker 6:40 second mile, his fastest of the day, before easing slightly to 6:58 over the closing stretch. That middle mile carried him from 112th to 72nd overall, showing his strongest running came in the race's heart rather than the start or finish. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, holding sub-7:00 pace throughout is a solid mark. With his final mile a touch off his best split, Alf might look at sustaining that middle-mile rhythm through to the finish next time a small tweak on an otherwise well-paced effort that ended on the Pearl Street Mall.
