Steady Pace, Strong Finish: Consistency Carries the Day Erin Dougherty crossed the 2026 Boulderthon half marathon finish line in 1:37:15, placing 276th overall and 50th among women in a field of 7,223. That result nearly mirrors her 2024 finish of 1:37:10, though it trails her fastest half here, 1:35:43 in 2025. Dougherty's race unfolded with remarkable evenness she opened at 7:32 pace through the first two miles, then locked into a rhythm between 7:16 and 7:36 for the remainder, never straying far from her overall 7:25 min/mile average. Her strongest stretch came from mile 8 to 9, clocked at 7:11, the fastest mile of her race. She closed with a 7:24 final mile, a sign of well-managed effort across the distance. This year's course also carried nearly 50% less elevation gain than in prior editions, cut to 203 feet even as Boulder's 5,000-plus foot altitude remained a constant test.
