Steady Marathon Pace Carries Runner Into Top 6% Finish Jack Bakken finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:44:21, an 8:33 min/mile pace, placing 185th overall out of the field of 3,305 and 159th among men. Bakken's opening 10 miles held tight between 8:24 and 8:30 min/mile, and he continued that rhythm through halfway before a modest dip between miles 21-23, where pace eased to the low 9:20s. He answered with one of his strongest stretches from mile 23 to 24, dropping to an 8:26 pace, and held that strength through the final two miles into the Pearl Street Mall finish. That closing surge, after 22-plus miles of steady effort, capped a well-paced run through Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet.
