Fast Start, Steady Finish Despite a Midrace Stumble Ben Warner finished the half marathon in 1:49:44, an 8:22/mile pace. He opened efficiently, covering the first six miles in under 49 minutes at a tight 8:048:19 clip, before a rough patch between miles 7 and 8 slowed his rhythm considerably. He responded well over the closing stretch, dropping to a 7:48 pace in mile 12 and 7:23 in mile 13 to bring the race home strong. That opening six-mile stretch was Warner's most consistent of the day, holding steady pace despite starting at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Even with the midrace dip, he found his legs again late and carried that closing strength onto the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder for the finish.
