Holland opened with his fastest mile, an 8:12, and held a tight 8:26-8:45 cumulative pace through the first four miles. A dip to 9:20 in mile four nudged his overall pace back slightly, but he recovered with an 8:44 fifth mile, his second-fastest of the day.
