Strong Opening Half Gives Way to a Gritty Finish Joe Knight completed the Marathon at the 2026 Boulderthon in 4:35:37, averaging 10:31 per mile over the 26.2-mile course. He was efficient early, covering the first 13 miles in 1:54:53 roughly 8:50 per mile before the pace cooled steadily from mile 14 through mile 21, sliding into the 11:00-15:00 range as Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet made its presence felt. Knight settled into a more even rhythm over the closing miles, holding between 10:55 and 13:59 pace from mile 22 onward, passing near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 22.5 before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
