Steady Miles Build to a Strong 10K Finish Julian Castro completed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 55:55, an average pace of 9:01 per mile. Castro's race settled into a rhythm after a 9:14 opening mile, with miles 3 through 5 forming the strongest stretch of the day 8:42, 8:40, and 8:31 pulling his cumulative pace down from 9:18 to 8:53 per mile. The final mile eased back to 9:32, a reasonable trade-off after that sustained middle push. Given the pacing shape, a touch more patience early could leave a bit more in reserve for the closing mile. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, Castro's effort held together well across a course that finishes on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
