Fast Front Half Gives Way to a Patient Finish Ian Stevens completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:35:08. His race opened briskly, dropping to an 8:03 min/mile pace by mile three and holding split times mostly in the 7:30s and 8:00s through mile eighteen. From there the pace eased steadily, and the closing miles, particularly 20 through 25, slowed well past 11 minutes per mile, bringing his overall pace to 10:30 min/mile at the finish. The strongest stretch of the day came between miles three and eleven, where he covered eight miles at roughly 7:57 per mile, his most consistent sustained running of the race. That effort carried him toward the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, after which his pace eased through the closing miles toward downtown Boulder. The race, run at over 5,000 feet of elevation, finished on the Pearl Street Mall.
