Strong Middle Miles Carry a Solid 10K Effort Logan Dent covered the 10K in 1:00:22, averaging 9:44 per mile in the 55-59 age group. His race built steadily through the opening miles, dropping from 9:51 to 9:33 to 9:24 by the third mile, his cumulative pace tightening each step of the way. A brief dip to 9:54 in the fourth mile gave way to his fastest mile of the day, a 9:22 fifth mile that pulled his overall pace back down before a 10:25 close. That fifth-mile surge stands out as the highlight of the effort. He crossed the finish on the Pearl Street Mall, a fitting cap to a race run at Boulder's mile-high altitude.
