Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Toby Gavette #42332 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fades Late but Places Hold Firm Toby Gavette crossed the 5K finish in 25:04, placing 241st overall and 182nd among men in a field of 2,677 at the 2026 Boulderthon. He opened with a 7:25 first mile, then surged to a 6:56 second mile before easing to a 9:39 close, still holding position well inside the race's top tier. That second mile stood out as his fastest of the day, a solid gear shift before the finish. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds context to that pace, and it's worth noting how well the effort held through two miles before the final stretch cost him some rhythm a small target for next time.
