Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Kyla Wallace #40269 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers Solid 5K Finish Kyla Wallace completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 28:15, an average pace of 9:06 per mile. Her race built momentum through the middle of the course: after opening in 9:51 for the first mile, Wallace surged to an 8:01 second mile before settling to 9:33 to close things out. That second mile stands as her fastest stretch of the race, showing a strong ability to pick up the pace mid-course. Finishing in downtown Boulder on the Pearl Street Mall, Wallace's race took place in a city sitting at over 5,000 feet of elevation. A slightly more even pacing across the first and third miles could help her carry that strong middle-mile speed across the full distance next time.
