Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Ed Balduf #20834 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Half Effort Anchored by a Fast Start Ed Balduf finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:42:41, placing fifth in the M 55-59 division. That's a step back from his 2023 result of 1:38:57 on the same course, though he moved up one spot in his age group from sixth then to fifth now. His race showed its strongest form early: the first six miles clicked by at a 7:35 average pace, with miles 1 and 2 both under 7:32. Splits loosened slightly through the middle miles, dipping to an 8:11 split at mile 8, before he steadied back into the 7:53-8:06 range to close things out. At over 5,000 feet of elevation, that opening six-mile stretch stands as the highlight of the day.
