Big Personal Breakthrough Powers a Top-2% Finish Allen Liu ran 3:23:09 in the marathon, finishing 65th overall and 57th among men in a field of 3,305. That result marks a major improvement from his 2024 Boulderthon marathon, where he finished in 3:57:29 a gain of more than 34 minutes this time out. Liu's pacing through the first 21 miles was remarkably even, holding between 7:25 and 7:45 per mile, with his fastest mile of the race coming at mile 21 in 7:02. That stretch from miles 1 through 21 stands as the clear highlight, showing strong control over pace at altitude in a city sitting above 5,000 feet. The lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 arrived just as his pace eased, with miles 22 through 24 slowing to 7:58, 8:51, and 11:29 before he settled back into 9:38 and 8:26 to close out the marathon on the Pearl Street Mall.
