Steady Pacing Delivers a Near-Identical Finish Kate Ferrell completed the half marathon in 1:50:02, matching her 2024 Boulderthon result to the second and finishing just 39 seconds off her 2023 time. Her splits held tightly in the 8:198:26 range through the first six miles before drifting into the high 8:30s and low 8:40s between miles 7 and 11, a stretch that briefly softened her overall pace. She closed strong, running her fastest mile of the race between miles 12 and 13 at 8:00 per mile, pulling her overall pace back down to 8:24 by the finish. That closing surge, at an elevation over 5,000 feet, capped a race defined by consistency and a well-managed finish.
