Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Everlyn Kemboi #140001 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Start Fades Late, Still Lands Podium Finish Everlyn Kemboi crossed in 15:48, placing 14th overall and 3rd among women in the 2026 Boulderthon 5K, with a 3rd-place age-group finish as well matching her 2026 time exactly but trailing her 15:40 from 2025. Her race went out fast: a 4:50 opening mile followed by a blistering 4:28 second mile, the strongest stretch of her day. The final mile slowed to 6:10, pulling her overall pace back to 5:09 min/mile. Racing at altitude in Boulder, sitting above 5,000 feet, that early pace made for a demanding closing stretch. Holding more in reserve for the final mile could help her defend that early speed all the way to the Pearl Street Mall finish next time.
