Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Susan Fagerness #41132 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

A Strong Middle Mile Carries a Solid 5K Finish Susan Fagerness completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 30:09. Her race built momentum early, dropping from a 9:40 opening mile to a brisk 8:29 second mile before settling in for a 10:58 closing mile to the finish. That second mile stands as the clear highlight of her race, nearly a minute faster than her opening pace and the quickest stretch of her day. Boulder's elevation, sitting above 5,000 feet, adds context to any pace run through downtown before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall. Susan has room to build on that early speed with a more even effort across the full distance in future races.
