Fast Start Fuels a Marathon Finish on the Mall Dylan Thomas finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:36:38. He built an early rhythm, holding 8:30-8:40 pace through the first ten miles, and clocked his fastest mile of the race in mile 11 at 7:46. That effort held largely steady through mile 17 before the pace eased steadily over the closing miles, with per-mile splits climbing into the 14-15 minute range from mile 19 onward as he covered the back half of the course. The marathon route passes Boulder Reservoir and county backroads before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall, a course run at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Thomas moved through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 as his elapsed pace crossed the 9:52 mark, part of the steady grind toward a strong downtown finish.
