Steady Effort Secures Runner-Up Finish in Division Derek Waterhouse crossed the 2026 Boulderthon 10K in 56:11, placing second in the M60-64 division. Thats a step back from his 2024 result of 52:24 on the same course, though the division standing improved. Waterhouse settled into a consistent rhythm through the middle miles, holding between 8:50 and 9:11 pace before finding his best stretch at mile five, clocking 8:32 his fastest mile of the day. The final mile eased to 9:59 as he brought it home. Racing at over 5,000 feet of Boulder elevation, and with the 10K field starting at 8:10 AM, Waterhouse's pacing across the middle miles reflects a well-managed effort worth building on.
