A Strong Middle Mile Powers a Steady 5K Finish Tessa Walker, 42, of Denver, finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 30:53. Her race unfolded in two distinct halves: an opening mile at 10:34, a sharp pickup through mile two at 8:58, then a return to a 10:34 pace over the closing mile. That middle mile stood out as her fastest full-mile stretch of the race, a solid surge before settling back in for the finish. Boulder sits at over 5,000 feet of elevation, a notable backdrop for that quicker middle-mile push. Every distance at this race finishes on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, where Walker closed out her 5K.
