Strong Finish Powers a Top-Tier Half Joshua Walton crossed the line in 1:36:04, good for 242nd overall and 197th among men in a field of 7,223 at the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon. His race built steadily: a swift opening mile near 7:12 gave way to a mid-race dip past 8:00 in mile seven, before he closed with the day's best stretch, covering miles 12 and 13 at roughly a 6:39 pace to surge past dozens of runners in the final miles. That closing kick came right around the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, and Walton used the boost to negative-split the back half of the course. Running at Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet, his ability to accelerate late speaks well of his pacing discipline a pattern worth building on for future races.
