Steady Pickup Powers a Strong Finish on the Mall Doug Miller covered the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 30:01, an average pace of 9:41 per mile, finishing among 2,677 in the field. Miller's race built momentum through the middle before easing back late. He opened with a 10:10 first mile, then found his rhythm, clipping off a 9:16 second mile his fastest of the race before settling to a 9:36 close. That middle-mile surge marked the clear high point of his run, moving him up sharply in the standings before the final stretch. The race, like every Boulderthon distance, finished along the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting stage for his strongest split of the day.
