Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Catly Nguyen #40625 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Early Pace Fuels Solid 5K Finish Catly Nguyen completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 44:33. She opened with a 13:32 first mile and quickened further to 12:54 over the second, before easing to a 17:06 closing mile as she made her way toward the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. That second mile stood out as the fastest stretch of her race, a solid surge through the heart of the course. Nguyen's overall shapebuilding pace before a natural settling in the closing milereflects a smart, controlled effort. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, holding that early rhythm through two miles is a notable component of the race. She might consider working on sustaining that mid-race strength a bit longer as she continues to build her racing experience.
