Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Vasily Rassokhin #41006 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Vasily Rassokhin completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 29:35, an overall pace of 9:32 per mile. He crossed through downtown Boulder's finish on the Pearl Street Mall among a field of 2,677. His race built momentum through the middle mile: after opening in 9:49, he surged to 8:27 for mile two, his fastest mile of the day, before easing to 10:15 to close it out. That second-mile push moved him up sharply in the standings before the final stretch. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet adds a layer of difficulty to any pace, and Rassokhin's ability to find a faster gear mid-race stands out as the highlight of his effort. A more even final mile could be a useful target for his next Boulderthon outing.
