Steady Start Fuels a Strong Finish on the Mall Maddi Dzengelewski completed the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 44:31. Her pace held firm through the opening two miles, clocking 13:46 and 13:25, before easing to 16:19 over the closing mile to the finish. That second mile was her standout stretch, the fastest of the day, and a solid follow-up to a controlled start. Finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, Dzengelewski capped her race in a city sitting over 5,000 feet of elevation a notable backdrop for holding pace as well as she did through the middle mile. A touch more evenness across the final stretch could bring her overall time down further next time.
