Strong Start Fuels Top 5% Finish Denver Maybrook crossed the 5K finish in 22:00, an average pace of 7:06 per mile, placing 115th overall and 89th among men in a field of 2,677 at the 2026 Boulderthon. Maybrook opened fast, covering the first mile in 6:37 before accelerating further to a 6:14 second mile, his quickest of the race. The final mile slowed to 8:22, tempering his overall pace after such an aggressive start. Running at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet, this early speed followed by a fade in the closing stretch suggests he might benefit from holding a touch more in reserve through the middle miles to sustain that early rhythm all the way to the Pearl Street Mall finish.
