Strong Start Fuels a Steady Half Marathon Finish Cole Cymerman, 18, of Denver, completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:40:28, an average pace of 7:40 per mile. He opened with a brisk 6:53 first mile, the fastest stretch of his race, before settling into a rhythm that held mostly between 7:20 and 8:00 per mile through the middle miles. That opening mile set the tone for a race that gradually eased rather than surged, with his cumulative pace drifting from 6:53 to 7:40 by the finish. Around mile 9, near the lululemon Power-Up Zone at roughly mile 9.5 of the half course, his pace dipped to 7:57, one of several small fluctuations in the back half. Given his even effort overall, holding a touch more pace through those middle miles could be a useful focus for his next half marathon.
