Sharper and Steadier Than Ever at 57 Erik Werner crossed the 10K finish in 44:12, placing 63rd overall and 47th among men in a field of 3,071 good for second in his 55-59 division. That's an improvement on his 2023 Boulderthon 10K, where he finished in 44:54. His pacing stayed remarkably even through the first five miles, hovering between 6:33 and 7:14, before easing to an 8:11 close. His opening mile was the standout of the race, a brisk 6:33 that anchored his fastest cumulative pace of the day. Given how well he held that rhythm through mile five, he might consider whether a touch more reserve for the closing mile could smooth out the final stretch. Run at over 5,000 feet of elevation in Boulder, this was a strong, well-managed performance that builds nicely on his previous result.
