Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Amy Weeden #11705 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Early Speed Gives Way to a Determined Closing Stretch Amy Weeden finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:38:57, placing 6th in the F45-49 division. Her race showed a strong front half: the opening six miles clicked by between 8:16 and 8:36 per mile, the fastest sustained stretch of her day. From there, pace eased gradually through the middle miles, then slowed more noticeably over the final 10K as cumulative pace climbed from 9:39 to 10:38 min/mile by the finish. That early rhythm came at altitude Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, a factor worth noting given her sub-8:30 opening pace. The race closed, as all Boulderthon distances do, on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. Weeden might look to carry more of that early strength into the back half next time, though her ability to hold form through six brisk miles at elevation stands as the clear highlight of the day.
