Steady Climb Into a Strong Closing Mile Juwan Willeto finished the half marathon in 1:51:40, an 8:31 min/mile pace. After an opening mile of 9:24, he settled into a rhythm through the middle miles, tightening his cumulative pace steadily down to 8:38 by mile 10. His strongest stretch came late: mile 12 was his fastest of the race at 7:49, a clear surge before easing home over the closing mile. This year's half course carried nearly half the climbing of previous editions, with net elevation gain cut from 384 feet to 203 feet a lighter profile for runners covering Boulder's course at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
