Strong Middle Mile Powers Steady 5K Finish Mizael Santillan crossed the finish in 32:04 for the 5K, closing with his fastest mile of the race between miles 1 and 2 in 9:22 after an 11:03 opening mile. He steadied over the final mile, finishing in 10:29 to complete the race at a 10:20 min/mile pace overall. The race finished on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting close at over 5,000 feet of elevation. With his even final two miles, Santillan might look next at carrying his mile-two rhythm through the opening stretch for an even split race.
