Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Ethan Shicks #40963 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles
Strong Middle Mile Fuels Solid 5K Finish Ethan Shicks finished the 2026 Boulderthon 5K in 27:43, an 8:56 per-mile pace across the distance. His race shape shows a clear surge: after opening in 9:00, he dropped to 7:29 for mile two before easing to 10:22 over the closing mile to the Pearl Street Mall finish. That second mile stands as his standout stretch, over a minute faster than either mile that bookended it. With that early speed banked, he might look to carry more of it into the final stretch next time a small tweak that could smooth out the finish.
