Steady Start Fades Into a Gritty Finish Jessikah Renee completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 3:27:24, a slower result than her 2025 finish of 3:19:23 on the same course. Her race opened strong, with the first three miles clicking off at a 12:45 min/mile pace, the fastest sustained stretch of her day. From there, her cumulative pace steadily eased mile by mile, settling into the mid-15:00s by the finish as the back half of the course took a heavier toll than the front. This year's half marathon route was redesigned with net elevation gain cut by nearly half, from 384 feet to 203 feet a notable shift for a course that still finishes on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, itself sitting above 5,000 feet. Given that elevation, Renee's early pace reflects a well-managed start; building more of that opening rhythm into the middle miles could help close the gap on last year's time.
