Fast Start Fuels Podium Finish at Altitude Josh Torres crossed the line in 33:12, good for third overall, third among men, and third in his age division out of a field of 3,071 in the 2026 Boulderthon 10K. That result reflects a strong, front-running effort that held up against late fatigue. Torres opened with a blistering 4:49 first mile, the fastest stretch of his race, and banked enough time to absorb a gradual slowdown over the middle miles, settling into a 5:115:30 rhythm through mile four. The final mile ticked up to 5:59 as the effort caught up with him, but his overall pace of 5:21 per mile still held firm for a podium finish. Running at Boulders elevation above 5,000 feet, that early speed set the tone for a well-managed race from start to finish.
