Covering twice the distance at the same per-mile effort marks a clear step up in endurance. Her race built steadily: a brisk opening mile in 7:53 eased through miles two to four as the pace settled into the 8:158:59 range. Mile five was her standout, dropping back down to 8:25/mile and reversing the gradual slide of the middle miles before the pace eased again over the closing stretch. Running that pace at Boulder's altitude, over 5,000 feet above sea level, underscores the strength of the effort.
