Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Gem Figueroa #41563 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 5K Distance: 3.1 miles

Fast Start Carries Runner Into Top Tier Gem Figueroa finished in 22:52, placing 141st overall and 108th among men out of the field of 2,677. He moved through the first two miles briskly before easing over the final stretch, with cumulative pace holding at 7:16 min/mile by the finish. His standout mile came between miles one and two, where he clocked 6:27, the fastest mile of his race and a sharp drop from his opening 7:01. That surge built the cushion that carried him through a slower closing mile. Running at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, holding sub-7:30 pace across the 5K reflects a well-managed effort, and a touch more evenness between miles two and three could be a useful target for his next race at this distance.
