Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Melanie Huang #30370 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Steady Gains Carry Huang to Her Fastest 10K Finish Melanie Huang finished the 10K in 53:20, placing 280th overall and 94th among women in a field of 3,071. That result marks her quickest Boulderthon 10K yet, improving from 56:33 in 2025 and 1:09:33 in 2024, a steady year-over-year climb. Her pacing stayed tight through the middle miles, holding between 8:18 and 8:46 before hitting her best mile of the race at 8:00 over mile five. The final mile eased to 9:23 as she brought it home. Given Boulders elevation above 5,000 feet, the consistency across the middle stretch stands out as the strongest part of her race.
