Strong 10K Effort Fuels Podium Finish for Local Runner Trent Poulsen crossed the line in 40:34, placing 29th overall and 22nd among men in the 2026 Boulderthon 10K, good for third in the men's 30-34 division. A year removed from a 3:17:55 marathon finish at the same race, Poulsen shifted gears to the shorter distance and delivered a sharp, front-loaded effort. His opening mile was the fastest of the day at 5:58, and he held a sub-6:20 cumulative pace through the midpoint before easing slightly over the second half. Running at Boulder's altitude of more than 5,000 feet, Poulsen's pacing pattern showed a runner comfortable pushing early and managing the fade, a strategy that paid off with a top-10-percent overall finish.
